StoryBots Christmas Special Receives Common Sense Seal

A StoryBots Christmas has just received Common Sense Media’s prestigious Common Sense Seal, which honors programming that offers “exceptional media experiences for families to watch, talk about, and learn from together.”

The honor puts the Emmy Award-winning holiday special in an elite class of select television programming that has been deemed “great for families” by Common Sense Media, the leading nonprofit organization dedicated to helping kids thrive in a world of media and technology.

In its five-starred review of A StoryBots Christmas, Common Sense called it a “dynamic and positive special [that] highlights the importance of sharing time with loved ones during the holidays.” The review also offers suggested discussion topics for viewing the special with kids.

A StoryBots Christmas and Ask the StoryBots are now streaming on Netflix.

A StoryBots Christmas Wins Two Emmys

It looks like the StoryBots were on Santa’s “nice” list, as A StoryBots Christmas walked away with gold this weekend at the 45th Annual Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

storybots_christmas_emmys_winThe holiday special – which is now available for streaming on Netflix – took home two Emmy trophies: Outstanding Special Class Animated Program and Outstanding Directing in a Preschool Animated Program.

Combined with the first season of Ask the StoryBots (also on Netflix), StoryBots has now accumulated three Emmy Award wins and twelve total nominations.

Ask the StoryBots Named Peabody Award Finalist

When it rains, it pours! On the heels of six Daytime Emmy Award nominations, Netflix’s Ask the StoryBots has today been named a finalist at the 76th Annual Peabody Awards.

One of media’s most prestigious honors, the Peabody Awards recognize “the most compelling and empowering stories released in electronic media” in the past year. Most impressively, from more than 1,200 total entries, Ask the StoryBots is one of only two finalists in the children’s programming category.

The 60 Peabody finalists – which include groundbreaking programming like OJ: Made in AmericaAtlantaStranger ThingsVeep and Beyonce’s Lemonade film – will be narrowed down to 30 winners, and all will be celebrated at a gala event in New York on May 20 (airing on PBS and Fusion on June 2).
