Super Simple StoryBots Costumes!

Need a costume? We’ve got you covered! Turn your squad into Team 341B with this year’s cutest (and possibly easiest) costume to make! Here’s what you need:

Bo with Circle1. Cut out the template

You can find printable eyes and eyebrows here. Print your eyes on heavy cardstock to make sure it lasts all day.

We used tape to attach our eyes and eyebrows, but you can also use glue or fabric glue. Just be sure to let it dry completely. Pro tip: Place the hat on your head first, then see where to place the eyes and eyebrows.

Beep with Circle3. Accessorize!

You can step up your costume game by adding things your StoryBot might like! You can also layer additional accessories like cardigans or jackets. Here’s a few ideas:

Bang with Circle

Bing – coffee mug, pogo stick

Boop with Circle

Bo – rainbows, unicorns, glitter

Beep – magnifying glass, plant

Boop – coffee mug

Bang – ukulele, drums

It’s getting slightly spooky here at StoryBots HQ. However, we celebrate the season by dressing up, not as a monster or a ghoul, but as our favorite StoryBots!

There’s so many ways our fans make costumes, but they all have something in common…they’re made with love! Our fans have made costumes from sweatshirts, hand-sewn designs, laundry hampers, or fashioned from aprons. Grab this StoryBots Printable Template, print it out, and let your creativity take over!

Let’s Make Spinning StoryBot Flyers

In the StoryBots Episode “How Do Airplanes Fly?” we found that *spoiler alert* airplanes fly using four forces: thrust, drag, lift, and weight.

Let’s make some spinning flyers that help us understand the magic of flight…also they’re just really fun to throw!

Print

Print out the StoryBots Spinning Flyers Printable. Try printing it on different types of paper to test out different flyers. We tried card stock and regular printer paper in my experiment.

Cut

Cut on the solid lines only. Don’t cut the dotted lines.

Fold

Fold the bottom in and up. Then make sure you fold the wings out in opposite directions.

fold the spinner

Take your flyer to a high spot and drop, or just see who can throw it the furthest. How long does it take to land? Can you add paperclips to make it spin more? Can you make it lighter? Ask some more questions and do some investigation yourself!
