The StoryBots Return to Netflix with All-New Holiday Special – Now Streaming!

The StoryBots are headed to the North Pole! Fresh off the Emmy Award-winning first season of Ask the StoryBots, the colorful and curious characters are back with an all-new Netflix Original holiday special. Premiering today, A StoryBots Christmas stars Judy Greer as the voice of Beep and includes a special appearance by the legendary Ed Asner as Santa Claus.

Based on the hit digital children’s educational brand from JibJab Bros. Studios, the half-hour animated special marks the StoryBots’ triumphant return to Netflix after the blockbuster 2016 debut of Ask the StoryBots and its companion series, StoryBots Super Songs. The former was named one of Netflix’s most binge-watched kids’ shows and racked up a long series of industry honors, including an Emmy Award (with five additional nominations). It was also one of just two children’s programs to be a finalist for the prestigious Peabody Award and was nominated in the International category at the BAFTA Children’s Awards.

The StoryBots universe centers on Beep, Boop, Bing, Bang and Bo, a ragtag team of little creatures who live in the world beneath our screens and help answer kids’ biggest questions. In A StoryBots Christmas, Bo (voiced by Erin Fitzgerald) mistakenly thinks that her friends don’t like her gifts and heads to the North Pole to ask Santa Claus for help making better presents. She learns along the way that Christmas is about far more than just the toys.

“When Netflix said they wanted us to create a Christmas special, we couldn’t wait to get to work,” said Evan Spiridellis, JibJab co-founder and the show’s co-creator. “We’ve produced lots of short-form holiday content for both JibJab and StoryBots, so it was amazing to take that experience and develop a more robust story that mixes animation, live-action, music and a lesson or two. Getting Ed Asner to be our Santa Claus was the icing on the cake – or more accurately, the star on our Christmas tree.”

“Since Ask the StoryBots premiered, we’ve heard from so many parents that this is the rare kids’ show that they enjoy watching, too,” said Gregg Spiridellis, CEO and co-founder of JibJab and show co-creator. “We hope A StoryBots Christmas continues that trend and becomes appointment holiday viewing for families for years to come.”

A StoryBots Christmas is available today, December 1, for streaming on Netflix in all available markets. The special includes the new original song, “Sharing Christmas (With the Ones You Love),” available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music and all other major music platforms starting December 8.
