The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences has named the StoryBots YouTube channel an official nominee for the 23rd Annual Webby Awards in the Video Series & Channels – Animation category.

The Webby Awards are considered the Internet’s highest honor. As a nominee, StoryBots was selected as one of the five best in its category and among the top 10% of all work submitted.

The StoryBots website was also named a Webby Award Honoree for Websites – Education.

StoryBots on YouTube is competing for both the Webby Award and the Webby People’s Voice Award. While the Webby Award is chosen by the Academy, the Webby People’s Voice Award is voted on by the public. Help StoryBots win by voting here today!

Ask the StoryBots Season 2 Nominated for Five Emmys

The StoryBots are returning to the Emmys! The hit Netflix Original series Ask the StoryBots today received a fantastic five nominations for the 46th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, including one for Outstanding Preschool Children’s Animated Series.

The nominations come on the heels of Ask the StoryBotsAnnie Award win last month for best animated TV program for preschool children. Both the Annie win and the Emmy nods recognize the series’ critically-acclaimed second season, in which the colorful and curious characters go on incredible adventures to help answer kids’ biggest questions, like “what is electricity?”, “how do ears hear?” and “why can’t I eat dessert all time?”.

In total, the StoryBots have now amassed 17 lifetime Emmy nominations. The show’s first season won the Emmy for Outstanding Interactive Media, while the show’s holiday special, A StoryBots Christmas, received the awards for Outstanding Special Class Animated Program and Outstanding Directing in a Preschool Animated Program.

The five nominations for the second season of Ask the StoryBots are:

  • Outstanding Preschool Children’s Animated Series
  • Outstanding Writing in a Preschool Animated Program
  • Outstanding Directing in a Preschool Animated Program
  • Outstanding Performer in a Children’s, Family Viewing or Special Class Program (for Edward Norton as Gary the Electronics Salesman)
  • Outstanding Interactive Media for a Daytime Program

The Daytime Emmys are awarded by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). Winners will be announced at ceremonies at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on May 3 and 5. A full list of nominations is available here.

A StoryBots Christmas Wins Two Emmys

It looks like the StoryBots were on Santa’s “nice” list, as A StoryBots Christmas walked away with gold this weekend at the 45th Annual Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards.

storybots_christmas_emmys_winThe holiday special – which is now available for streaming on Netflix – took home two Emmy trophies: Outstanding Special Class Animated Program and Outstanding Directing in a Preschool Animated Program.

Combined with the first season of Ask the StoryBots (also on Netflix), StoryBots has now accumulated three Emmy Award wins and twelve total nominations.
