“We’re taking Ask the StoryBots to the next level for season two,” said Evan Spiridellis, the show’s co-creator and co-executive producer and JibJab’s chief creative officer. “The adventures are bigger and more epic, and our art team has done an incredible job mixing 2D and 3D animation, puppetry, stop-motion, and live action to be more visually stunning than ever.”

While season one of Ask the StoryBots was launched on Netflix in select markets, the newest batch of episodes will be released worldwide. The StoryBots brand is already popular globally, amassing nearly 500 million video views on its YouTube channel, with more than 700 million minutes watched. In the past year, JibJab has also released five StoryBots books with Random House Children’s Books and partnered with Razor & Tie to release and promote its music.

“It’s been doubly exciting that we’re launching season two worldwide on Netflix just as we pass 500 million views on YouTube,” said Gregg Spiridellis, the series’ co-creator and co-executive producer and CEO of JibJab. “Our fanbase, which includes both kids and adults, has continued to grow exponentially since we launched StoryBots on YouTube, and we can’t wait to introduce these characters to an even wider audience.”

Ask the StoryBots’ second season will be available August 24 for streaming on Netflix in all available markets. The season’s soundtrack will be released on all major digital music platforms on August 31. For more information on the StoryBots, visit www.StoryBots.com.

The StoryBots Return to Netflix with All-New Holiday Special – Now Streaming!

The StoryBots are headed to the North Pole! Fresh off the Emmy Award-winning first season of Ask the StoryBots, the colorful and curious characters are back with an all-new Netflix Original holiday special. Premiering today, A StoryBots Christmas stars Judy Greer as the voice of Beep and includes a special appearance by the legendary Ed Asner as Santa Claus.

Based on the hit digital children’s educational brand from JibJab Bros. Studios, the half-hour animated special marks the StoryBots’ triumphant return to Netflix after the blockbuster 2016 debut of Ask the StoryBots and its companion series, StoryBots Super Songs. The former was named one of Netflix’s most binge-watched kids’ shows and racked up a long series of industry honors, including an Emmy Award (with five additional nominations). It was also one of just two children’s programs to be a finalist for the prestigious Peabody Award and was nominated in the International category at the BAFTA Children’s Awards.

The StoryBots universe centers on Beep, Boop, Bing, Bang and Bo, a ragtag team of little creatures who live in the world beneath our screens and help answer kids’ biggest questions. In A StoryBots Christmas, Bo (voiced by Erin Fitzgerald) mistakenly thinks that her friends don’t like her gifts and heads to the North Pole to ask Santa Claus for help making better presents. She learns along the way that Christmas is about far more than just the toys.

A StoryBots Christmas (Ed Asner as Santa Claus)

“When Netflix said they wanted us to create a Christmas special, we couldn’t wait to get to work,” said Evan Spiridellis, JibJab co-founder and the show’s co-creator. “We’ve produced lots of short-form holiday content for both JibJab and StoryBots, so it was amazing to take that experience and develop a more robust story that mixes animation, live-action, music and a lesson or two. Getting Ed Asner to be our Santa Claus was the icing on the cake – or more accurately, the star on our Christmas tree.”

“Since Ask the StoryBots premiered, we’ve heard from so many parents that this is the rare kids’ show that they enjoy watching, too,” said Gregg Spiridellis, CEO and co-founder of JibJab and show co-creator. “We hope A StoryBots Christmas continues that trend and becomes appointment holiday viewing for families for years to come.”

A StoryBots Christmas is available today, December 1, for streaming on Netflix in all available markets. The special includes the new original song, “Sharing Christmas (With the Ones You Love),” available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Music and all other major music platforms starting December 8.
