Ask the StoryBots was previously nominated in the same category in 2017 for its first season. Now in its 46th year, the Annie Awards are hosted by ASIFA-Hollywood, the Los Angeles branch of the International Animated Film Association, and recognize the best in animated film and television.

Now streaming its second season on Netflix, Ask the StoryBots was also nominated for Directing in a Animated Television/Broadcast Production. Director Evan Spiridellis (who is also the show’s co-creator and co-executive producer, as well as the voice of Hap, among other roles!) was recognized in this category for his work on the “What Is Electricity?” episode.

Animator Siqi Song, who worked on season two of Ask the StoryBots, was also nominated for Best Student Film for her film Sister. Congrats to Evan and Siqi!

Winners will be announced February 2, 2019, at a ceremony at UCLA’s Royce Hall. A full nomination list is available here. Watch all episodes of Ask the StoryBots now on Netflix.
