The StoryBots are going to the Emmys!
Beep, Boop, Bing, Bang and Bo will be hitting the red carpet this spring as Netflix original series Ask the StoryBots – the inaugural TV show based on the popular children’s digital educational brand – nabbed an impressive six nominations for the 44th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards, including one for Outstanding Preschool Children’s Animated Program.
StoryBots’ hit multi-platform learning program – which includes Parents’ Choice Award-winning iOS apps and web-based content and the Teachers’ Choice Award-winning StoryBots Classroom – was itself nominated in the Outstanding Interactive Media – Enhancement to a Daytime Program or Series category.
Other nominations for Ask the StoryBots include:
- Outstanding Directing in a Preschool Animated Program
- Outstanding Main Title and Graphic Design
- Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Preschool Animated Program
- Outstanding Sound Editing for a Preschool Animated Program
Ask the StoryBots, which premiered August 2016 on Netflix, follows the adventures of the StoryBots, curious and colorful little creatures who live in the world beneath our screens, as they journey to the outside world to answer real kids’ questions, like “how does night happen?” or “why do I need to brush my teeth?”.
The series has received rave reviews from parents, kids and teachers alike and was previously nominated for best preschool animated series at the Annie Awards. A companion series, StoryBots Super Songs, premiered in October of last year and is available on both Netflix and YouTube.
The Daytime Emmys are awarded by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS). Winners will be announced at ceremonies at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on April 28 and 30. A full list of nominations is available here.
